Tim Davies, Principal – East Midlands
Tim qualified as an ACA with PWC in 1990 and then set up his own accountancy practice before selling this to Baker Tilly in 1998 where he worked as a partner for three years. Tim in this period provided advice to many owner managed businesses acting as a trusted adviser in terms of family and business advice to enable owners to meet their business objectives. Tim was then a founder and leading member of the Lineker consortium that rescued Leicester City from administration and Tim successfully led the club as CEO and Finance Director for five years before the business the club was sold and had set the foundations for its current successes on and off the pitch.
After the sale Tim worked as Finance Director at Board level in a large family owned flour manufacturer helping the business grow via capital projects and acquisition and helped reorganise the business to the benefit of the family owners.
Tim was then approached to become Finance Director at the Lawn Tennis Association before joining the FD Centre.
He has a vast array of commercial and corporate experience but his particular strengths include business planning and development, turnarounds, acquisitions, relationship management, business integrations and working capital management. Tim has also been highly successful in making the finance team an integral part of the company.
Tim has three children, a great girlfriend and enjoys playing competitive tennis, keeping fit and watching most sports.
