Richard is a commercially minded CFO with a real focus on strategy and growth. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in the West Country, he spent 2 years working in corporate recovery in London before moving into media. During a 20 year career he worked for market leading organisations such BBC, Channel 4 and Digital UK/Freeview and was at the heart of many industry critical initiatives.
Being involved in the early stages of the digital evolution, Richard’s experience covered a broad range, from launching digital channels for Channel 4 and handling the commercial aspects of digital switch over through to launching the latest version of the UK’s largest TV platform.
His financial and strategic insight proved crucial in delivering success across the many and varied projects he has been engaged on over the years. An eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger picture has always been hugely beneficial in steering companies toward achieving their goals. With a passion for success and the financial and commercial aspects of business Richard is able to clearly understand revenue drivers, risks and opportunities.
After a long career in media Richards entrepreneurial sprit led him to co-found a tech start up to disrupt the blue-collar workforce across sectors such as construction, landscaping and events. This experience proved hugely valuable and enabled Richard to broaden his expertise across technology, the sectors in which the business operates and online marketplaces.
Richard has a broad range of management skills and is a real team player, always encouraging businesses to get the most out of their teams. An outstanding ideas person with a broad knowledge, Richard is able to take a strategic view but also hands-on to implement strategy and get the job done.
