I have a successful track record of driving business performance through both revenue growth and cost management, supported by digitisation, data analytics and strong governance frameworks. My approach is to understand the business model, get to know the people, focus on critical value drivers, measure progress towards goals, and become a trusted partner.
I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with over 15 years as a Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, I grew a start-up subsidiary of one of the world’s largest IT companies from its initial creation to over £300m turnover. I also helped to turnaround a diverse family-owned group of companies, focusing on working capital and profit generation and strengthening the finance function.
My diverse sector experience includes Regulated Financial Services, Business Process Outsourcing, FinTech, Hospitality, Equestrian, Telecoms, Pharma, Retail, and Wholesale. I have supported start-up and fledgling companies as well as established blue-chip multinationals, travelling extensively to Europe, Asia, Australasia, and the Americas.
I have non-executive-director experience with an International Insurance company, have been a company appointed Pension Scheme Trustee where I restructured a scheme and returned it to surplus, and I am approved by UK and European financial regulators.
I have completed several transformational events including M&A, business integration, multi-site restructuring, system implementation, and outsourcing deals. I have also designed and created finance and governance functions from scratch and developed them to support the needs of growing businesses.
I am also a self-confessed life-long learner having gone back to music lessons in my 40’s and achieving grade 8 in classical piano and acoustic guitar. When I’m not playing music, I love being in the mountains, cooking, or watching films.
