Neil is a commercially focused board level executive with nearly 40 years of experience in consumer facing businesses with Carpetright, Superdrug and M&S.
He has had significant exposure to commercial negotiations; restructuring; refinancing and with eleven years listed plc experience is well versed in risk management and governance, having been a member of Board, Audit and Remuneration Committees, alongside a non-executive role for international subsidiaries. He has also lead negotiations with Pension Trustees to agree deficit recovery plans.
During his career he has had exposure to many businesses and believes the majority have the potential to achieve scale and grow faster when they are able to develop the mindset and infrastructure of a larger business, without incurring the cost.
He has a calm persona with a hands on approach and enjoys the engagement with all stakeholders, including shareholders, financing partners, customers and colleagues.
Neil joined the FD Centre to allow him to share his skills and experience as a part-time Finance Director in businesses in need of strategic and operational support.
