Passionate about driving growth and profitability, my experience covers formulating and implementing strategy, developing finance and operational functions, driving continuous improvement in processes and procedures, and providing top class analysis and business partnering to senior management. My track record as Finance Director covers not only of leading and developing finance functions, but purchasing, legal, IT and logistics as well. I am adept at dealing with all levels in an organisation, in the UK and throughout the world. Primarily international dealings have been with the U.S., Germany, Italy and India.
After professional qualification with BDO, I worked with EY in Italy primarily on M&A and GAAP conversion. On return to the UK, I was first at Millennium plc implementing new systems, then at Rio Tinto, helping set up a new subsidiary. At GE Lighting, I helped implement a new shared service centre and the restructuring of the EMEA region. At Bosch, where I spent 10 years, highlights include setting up Bosch’s first shared service centre; redefining the UK’s organisational and operational structure and integrating new acquisitions. At Diesel I contributed to commercial strategy and profitability through the provision of key analytics, setting of tough targets, and ensuring a strong customer and control focus. At TCC, as group director responsible for worldwide planning and forecasting, I helped devise a new systems platform for forecasting and planning. At Crabtree and Evelyn, I set up a new finance team, and finalised the implementation of SAP B1, as well as steering the organization through cashflow problems. As an independent Finance Director, I helped Pret a Manger and Galliard Homes with their IFRS/FRS 102 gaap conversions and reviewed their respective corporate structures.
My main stengths are in strategic and commercial support, business partnering, business re-organisations, board level operations, team leadership and development, M&A, planning, budgeting and forecasting, re-engineering of processes and procedures, transfer pricing, setting up of shared service centres, and systems implementations.
