Lee has 28 years of experience in senior finance roles, initially at blue chip leisure and retail chains and for the past 18 years as Finance Director for fast growing SMEs.
The early part of his career was at Tom Cobleigh plc, as a key part of the management team who took start up business through venture capital backed growth to a £60M full Market flotation and then a £96M trade sale to Rank plc. Blue chip experience followed at Bass plc where he was a part of a MBO of the gaming division and then working as a Business Analyst for the nationwide confectionery retailers Thorntons Plc where he led the estate rationalisation plan and cut over £1m of direct overheads.
In 2000 he became Finance Director for Imagesound plc. A fledgling company providing in store radio services was grown quickly, raising venture capital funding and then achieving a £12M AIM flotation in early 2004 whilst raising funds to acquire two competitors and lead the consolidation of the market. Subsequently he led a business start-up, successfully raising seed funding and R&D grants. Then came further roles with owner managed businesses, the Gatecrasher nightclub chain and then the Liz Hobbs Group (Event & Concert Business). At both of these groups Lee worked closely with entrepreneurs, understanding what was key to them and both enjoying substantial profitable growth under his tenure.
He has extensive knowledge and board level strategic input in both b2C and B2B industries across leisure, retail, technology and business service sectors.
Significant Fundraising experience with Full Market and AIM flotations, bank refinancing packages, Venture Capital raising and grant funding all under his belt. A proven track record in growing entrepreneurial SMEs and significant cost saving initiatives. Crisis management are also to the fore including HMRC negotiation, Creditor arrangements and pre-pack administration.
A father of three, Lee enjoys all sports and still runs and turns out for veterans Rugby when the knees permit.
