A Chartered Management Accountant accountant, Julian’s early career after graduating from Exeter University was serving with the British Army as an Infantry Officer in The Light Division (Light infantry & Royal Green Jacket regiments).
Julian joined Unilever plc where he did his commercial and accountancy training, working in Branded and Own Label food businesses, before moving into the Premium branded drinks sector with DIAGEO and Allied Domecq plc where he gained European and International experience.
The ‘second half’ of Julian’s career has seen a variety of Finance leadership and General Management roles, across a number of categories in both large and SME organisations, leading finance and cross functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Julian has considerable experience of working in Business Turnarounds, has participated in a number of corporate transactions (Buy \ Sell \ MBO) and is skilled in the development of Business \ Strategic Plans to drive profitability, cash and value. A good communicator and a team player , he is always prepared to roll his sleeves up and get involved in the detail of resolving a problem when necessary.
Julian has an honours degree in Law, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants and has Business Planning and LEAN training.
When not working Julian enjoys family life and coaches junior rugby and cricket.
