Graeme qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1991 and over the last 20 years has held a number of Finance Director positions in the hospitality sector, employed in family owned, private equity and FTSE businesses. Working in hospitality has provided the experience of working in multi-disciplinary environment giving him expertise of FMCG manufacturing, logistics & wholesaling, property management & development and retail business operations.
He has significant exposure to business change through his management of acquisition, disposal, reorganisation and ERP implementation projects. He is comfortable working with senior management to produce strategic business plans, budgets and forecasts and financial models for the securing of finance for investment in new business opportunities.
With a strategic outlook combined with an eye for detail, he ensures that the finance function can deliver business critical information to facilitate operational decision making. He has extensive experience of team development to enable the finance function to improve financial management and reporting to facilitate the implementation of cost reduction activities, negotiation of contracts, outsourcing and identifying revenue/margin improvement opportunities.
Very amenable, he is comfortable communicating with people at all levels within an organisation to gain trust, understanding and buy in to change.
Graeme is married with three grown up children and in his leisure time he enjoys walking with the dogs, watching live sport and making simple carpentry pieces. He is also a Trustee for a local charity.
