David is an entrepreneurial finance leader with 20 years of experience across a wide range of roles and projects in the media, technology and financial services sectors. During his career he has founded and run his own data analytics consultancy, been a key member of the management team of a boutique private equity and venture capital fund and managed teams of 25+ and revenues of £50m+ in large international corporates. He has also advised several early stage ventures on fund-raising and scaling up with the help of his extensive network of professional advisors, entrepreneurs and investors. David’s professional experience has seen him work on a variety of transactions, including a £70m IPO, a $100m Eurobond listing, a £50m revolving credit facility, a £70m bank acquisition, a £40m media acquisition, a £20m media JV, a £15m media turnaround and two Series “A” technology investment rounds.
David’s enjoys the challenge of optimising business operations. He has recruited, developed and led finance teams and implemented MIS for internal control and compliance, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, credit control, cash management, payroll and taxation. David has driven the commercial finance agenda to increase revenue growth in several businesses and managed acquire, build and run budgets across numerous operational departments – including sales, marketing, R&D, technology, factory and procurement – to improve margins.
David’s strategic experience has seen him manage projects relating to business development, operational transformation, organisational realignment and technological innovation. David’s experiences of being a start-up founder has enabled entrepreneurial businesses to leverage his extensive experience and network in support of developing their funding, commercial and operational strategies. With a strong eye for detail, David has performed a variety of roles within early stage ventures, including designing systems, implementing and developing finance functions and managing strategic and operational risk related to sales, marketing and technology.
David’s passion is creating and implementing strategic business plans that drive businesses to maximise their potential and help business owners and leaders to achieve their personal goals.
