Colin Levins, Principal – London East
Colin was most recently CEO of a company that he co-founded called Platform Black which is now a leading alternative commercial finance provider in invoice finance which received numerous industry awards as a new alternative finance lender for its invoice trading and supply chain finance offerings. He raised over £2.5m of equity to get this company up and running, £500k of which was pre revenue and retains an interest as a founder shareholder.
Colin is a business studies graduate of Trinity College Dublin and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Crowe Clark Whitehill in London in 1987. He has extensive industry sector knowledge in property, retail, professional services, technology, finance, fund and wealth management, family offices and private equity gained in the profession and working as a partner at Knight Frank (£400m turnover international property agent and consultancy), Chartwell Land (Property arm of Kingfisher Plc), Blockbuster Video, London and Capital etc. Covering organisations in scale and size from start up to multinational businesses.
Colin is a commercial finance director with good communication skills able to identify the issues that need to be addressed, work with the management team and bring together a strategy to deal with them. Whether those issues are restructuring of the finance team, a systems implementation, arranging finance, debt or equity, acquiring or selling the business, cost reduction or commercial negotiation of existing contracts. Colin has strong experience and a track record to be able to assist the management team achieve the best outcome for the business.
