In a career characterised by collaborative working in both technical and commercial senior finance roles, Clare has experience across a variety of industries with some of the biggest global brands in their sectors.
Post university, she completed her CIMA qualification at Unilever, where she stayed for 7 years in Finance roles supporting marketing, sales and manufacturing as well as 2 years as Senior Internal Audit Manager for the company’s Africa region.
Moving to Financial Services, Clare was Finance Director for RSA’s More Th>n brand for 5 years at a time when insurance was making the difficult transition to the E-commerce world. She led business critical projects in cost base analysis and rationalisation, marketing effectiveness and customer segmentation as well as being finance lead in 3 new product launches, a strategic systems review and RSA-wide Motor Strategy Board.
This was followed by Retail experience with Amazon as Head of Finance for the Consumer Electronics Division and in 2016, she joined KFC, the ‘finger lickin’ good’ brand with 900+ restaurants and turnover in excess of £1bn in the UK and Ireland. As Director of Financial Control, she built and led a globally best practice finance team and shared service, was involved in a large re-franchising program and worked closely with the financial stakeholders and franchisees to navigate the cashflow implications of the much-publicised 2018 ‘Chicken Crisis’.
