Following a 10-year period in private practice as an Auditor, Adrian moved “client side” in 1993 gaining almost 25 years senior management experience in group CFO and Finance Director roles. These roles have all been within the SME sector as part of fast growing entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses.
He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and holds an MBA specialising in Change Management. Adrian is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Manager. An advocate of lifelong learning, he is always willing to take on a fresh challenge and learn new skills.
Adrian is a calm and thoughtful Board member but never shies away from making difficult business decisions or having polite challenging conversations. As is often the case working with owner-managed businesses, he has developed a broad range of commercial disciplines including H.R. and I.T. In his most recent position as Group CFO and Co-Owner, he was primarily focussed on establishing trading entities in 8 international markets. This rapid international growth led to an approach by a German competitor which, after a period of intense and detailed due diligence managed by Adrian, resulted in a successful trade sale.
Since exiting, he is keen to remain commercially active and use his experience to help other businesses in the SME sector.
Adrian and his wife Andrea live in the small village of Giggleswick, North Yorkshire; they both enjoy long walks in the Dales. In his spare time, he is Chairman of the local football club and spends most weekends supporting the 3 senior and 6 junior teams.
