One of our clients Nottingham-based Leonard Design Architects is celebrating after securing a spot on the prestigious AJ100 list for the second year in a row and jumping up 18 places to rank at number 82.
Published annually by the Architects’ Journal since 1995, the AJ100 ranks the largest architectural practices in the UK. It is largely regarded as a key measure of success and the industry’s most authoritative list.
Leonard Design is an award-winning global architectural practice headquartered in Nottingham, with three further offices in London, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, Australia. The practice has a growing portfolio of projects including the Broadmarsh Bus Station and Sneinton Market in Nottingham, Bispevika in Oslo and the Jam Factory in Melbourne.
David Leonard, director at Leonard Design, was at the Architects’ Journal Annual Members’ Dinner and Awards ceremony in London where the winners were announced last night.
He said: “The AJ is one of the leading titles in our industry so we’re thrilled to be recognised for the second year running. We were listed for the first time in 2017 so it’s an amazing achievement to not only secure a spot again but to have jumped by 18 places to rank at 82.
“It’s been another busy year for the practice as we have grown to more than 80 staff across our four offices and expanded our clients and presence in countries such as Norway and Korea along with new projects in Vietnam and Germany. Ranking in such a respected national list really is a testament to the hard work of our brilliant team and we are confident that the coming year will see the practice continue to flourish.”
John Morgan, director at Leonard Design, added: “After fellow director Ian Staples and I bought into Leonard Design I read Colin Mills’ book and, being part of a small architectural practice, was hugely inspired. It was part of the reason we chose to work with the FD Centre and bring Richard Gant in to help support our growth. Given this latest award we think it’s working so far!”
