Andrew started a career in publishing in 1995 at Future Publishing in Bath. A move to Origin Publishing in 1997 gave him his first taste of a fast growing business from start-up to £15million turnover and 120 people in 5 years. Wanting to try this himself Andrew started Surf Media in 2002 with the simple idea of the town-based property-led lifestyle magazine Bath Life, taking this model to six towns and a £2million turnover with a team of 35, finally selling the business in 2007, some 5 years later.
As an entrepreneur Andrew owned a business that would be a prime target for The FD Centre today, this giving him a clear understanding of our core market and how our clients run their businesses and lives. He brings with him a mix of skills from his experience of publishing, marketing and commercial vision across many markets to head up our marketing and commercial development in support of Sara Daw, Managing Director and the growing team of managing principals.
Andrew is not an FD, but through his experience of growing businesses he understands, more than most, the support and impact the right person in this role can have in an ambitious and rapidly expanding businesses.
