FPM Training

We are specialists in the research, design, and delivery of workforce development programmes which lead to better public services and improve the lives of individuals, organisations and their communities. We work with a range of central government agencies and departments on a project basis. FPM Training is a network organisation which works through partnership with a number of larger organisations and a wide range of suppliers.

We approached the FD Centre because we realised that we needed financial input at a strategic level but could not justify employing a full-time Financial Director. We had embarked on a growth strategy and realised that finance could not continue to be an afterthought but had to become much more central to the organisation.

We have been very pleased with the FD Centre's contribution. Key successes include:

-               Setting up a 12 week cashflow,
-               Streamlining month and year end procedures,
-               Sorting out balance sheet issues,
-               Working on the financial model which helped us win a 2.5 year
                contract which will substantially increase our turnover,
-               Reviewing acquisition activity in our area,
-               Recruiting a Finance Manager.

Our FD Centre Principal, Caroline Dodds has been great to work with. She understands and works within the organisational culture. At the same time she is not afraid to ask critical and challenging questions.  As opposed to taking on any of the day to day tasks herself, she has worked to educate and raise skill levels within the existing team. She is tremendously flexible and is quite happy to vary the work she is doing to meet the organisational needs.
