Douglas Johnstone - Managing Principal, South West

Douglas has provided part-time finance director services to SMEs since 1991. In doing so, he has worked in a wide range of sectors and has broad experience of all the financial requirements of owner-managed businesses. He has a commitment to and understanding of the needs, problems, frustrations and joys faced by those who run their own businesses.

He was one of the founders of a financial services company established to bring a new type of service to the market. As finance director, he was instrumental in the company's rapid growth and its ultimate sale to a large group.

Douglas is a chartered accountant, having trained with what is now Ernst & Young with whom he worked in Glasgow and London. He has also worked with Bishop Fleming throughout the South West. In industry, he has been finance director of a number of organisations including a large PLC engaged in electronics engineering.
