Paul Doona – Principal, West Midlands

Paul, a chartered accountant, began his commercial career in the property and construction sectors. He was Finance Director and Company Secretary of St Modwen Properties Plc from 1985 to 1999, managing the flotation of the company and helping to formulate its urban regeneration strategy.

During this period, Paul gained experience of the leisure sector, helping to grow Northern Racing Plc into the country’s second largest racecourse operator and joining the board of Stoke City Football Club, where he was responsible for the financing of the Britannia Stadium.

After two years as Finance Director, latterly CEO of Claims Direct, Paul relocated to the Isle of Man and undertook a number of CEO and finance director roles in the on-line gaming sector and held non-executive roles in leisure, property, asset management and natural resources businesses.

After returning to the UK, Paul lead the flotation of a diverse recruitment group before embarking on a plural career which included board roles in the social housing, care homes and residential housing sectors. Other roles included the role of Finance Director to a specialist financial services firm, providing factoring and asset based finance to the SME sector.
